If Americans are divided about how their congressman should vote on the health-care bill, the same can't be said for their views on Congress.

According to the new NBC/WSJ poll, whose full results will be released beginning at 6:30 pm ET, only 17% approve of Congress' job.

What's more, given the opportunity, half (50%) say they would vote to defeat every single member of Congress, including their own representative.

Asked if they would still vote to replace every single member of Congress if that resulted in Democrats still controlling Congress, nearly three-quarters (72%) said yes.

And asked if they would still vote to replace every member if that resulted in Republicans controlling Congress, a virtually identical number (73%) said yes.

The reason the poll numbers are declining have to do with the healthcare mess coupled with policies which are anti-businesss. Who thinks having the head of unions at a jobs day makes sense? Every meeting this man has with union leaders makes businesses move more jobs offshore. Every talk of letting tax cuts expire or card check or cap and trade indirectly or directly costs many more jobs. The man has no pro business policies or business experience. I know, I run a company. He obviously beleives in his mission but we have to ask ourselves how a person with less business experience than a typical cashier is in charge of the greatest country in the world in the midst of the worst financial crisis in decades. And no, I am not really sure McCain was better. Where is Ronald Reagan when you need him?

The only thing that changes is change. So poll results change. Obama's declining popularity most probably is caused by the health care reform bill he is pushing. If this is resolved in the hands of the lawmakers, his approval rating might go up or would come crashing down. Who knows?

If you look at the posts on this topic, no one mentioned Obama's race until you. Who brought racism into the discussion? This is the same "race card" the liberal left plays everytime someone disagrees with their "big brother" plans!

I believe the conservative party has more outlet voices that get in into the main stream media to discredit President Obama on every move he makes. You can thank your beloved Rush for that. Of course his poll numbers are plummeting -- he's against tax cuts and for bureaucracy. Who's for running the doctor's office like the post office or the army hospital? When have we had a president like that? FDR? Carter? I'm at a loss...

This man has been afloat almost a year on the placid currents of hope and change, but know the USS Hubris has run into stormy seas and is taking on water -- fast. His comments tonight about walking into a trillion dollar deficit (I can do better than that!) and his woefully myopic world view mean that we are in for a long three more years....let the countdown begin!

While I am joining in you blogging the mouth watering approval drops of Obama I am beginning to wonder whether we are celebrating a bit too much? Like any trend this cannot continue to slide forever especially because until health care is resolved no major pieces of legislation will be proposed. I think we are probably going to be quite shocked when these numbers bounce...after all, this swoon happens to every president does it not?

He was built up so much by the media and his own hype that I'm not surprised there has been such a drop off in his support. After all, when you promise so much and reality means you can't deliver then support will only go down. Dems will probably lose a lot of seats in 2010 elections.
