Most of the time when a family faces a crisis that they don't know how to handle; they are susceptible to fall into anger and diaper. We as a country are doing just that. Anger is the best way to promote stupidity and to get things out of context. People in the media should face this responsibility, and to abuse the truth with ridicule is a sin against society as a whole. Shame on you Mr. Beck.

People like this woman don't want facts and logic, they want to accuse anyone who isn't for socialized medicine of not caring about the problems, of not being touched by the costs of the system as it now stands. Is it not understandable when, faced with this tripe on a daily basis, Beck finally lets the emotion kick in, too? And is it surprising that the emotion we hear is anger, anger at not being able to get through to the meatheads who think we can all have anything we want, without paying for it?"

The hypocrisy in this paragraph is truly remarkable. Almost unbelievable, I think it would actually make more sense as satire. To state that the woman does not want to deal with facts and logic and then go on a tirade of radicalized generalizations is disgusting.

And to top it off, you link to a columnist who writes as sensationally as you do. You know why 1.2 percent of New Yorkers pay 50% of the income tax? THEY MAKE MORE THAN 50% OF THE INCOME. He then goes on to say top 20% of earners pay over 70% of all federal taxes as if they are paying a disproportionate amount, while ignoring that the top 1 percent in America owns as much as the bottom 90 percent.

This blog is downright offensive. I can't believe there's support people who write like this.

Mike---I doubt that Glenn Beck "reads more" than any other political commentator. Try Rachel Maddow: first she got a degree in Public Policy from Stanford University then went, as a Rhodes Scholar, to Oxford University for a PhD in Political Science. Actually, it's Dr Maddow. Chances are she reads quite a bit. Glenn Beck? According to his online bio, he dropped out of college after about a semester. One thing formal education does for a person is teach the difference between stating a fact based on facts and spouting a crazy idea based on BS (another poster has already addressed Beck's ridiculous statement that the "swords into plowshares" theme in Rockefeller Center statuary is Communist, and his implication that the arch-Capitalist Rockefellers were, therefore, Communist).

To Connie, re "Glenn Beck tells us the truth": When President and First Lady Obama went to Copenhagen, Beck displayed a can of Copenhagen Snuff, read the label warning that it is "cancerous", then posted that next to the photograph of Michelle Obama and kept repeating the word "cancerous". How is that truthful? Is Mrs Obama a carcinogenic chemical? What Beck said was not only untruthful, it was illogical. You folks defend Beck by saying he is truthful, then when he obviously isn't you say, Oh, well, he's just a comedian. You can't have it both ways. Either he is a truth-teller or an agent of hyperbole and vile association intended for political gain.

Oh, so when he complained about the Swords to Plowshares statue that was commisioned, saying it was communist, that was honest?

The ideal of swords to plowshares comes from the bible. I dont mind him going after actual facts, but I dont like it when good quotes from the bible are defaced by pointless slander.

He was the first one to bring up the bailouts, she didnt touch it. As far as facts, she brought up as many facts as he did. (Mostly he just responded with sarcasm). I found it pretty funny :)

Glenn Beck is a breath of fresh air in a climate that is full of lies. His honesty and willingness to tell us the truth even when we don't want to hear it has made a life time fan of my family.

I love his style and I think he is Hilarious! This is what he does and he has been doing it for years. There is NO debate that Glenn Beck works very hard, reads more then most anyone, educates himself & his audience, and is more sincere then ANYONE else who comments on political news. Keith Olbermann? Katie Couric? Matt Lauer? John Stewart? Really???
To Positive/Everything will work out thinkers, he will come across as Mr. doom & gloom. I think he is a realist who is willing to tell people the truth. (Unless he is fooling around with his tongue & cheek comedy) Many people do not like the truth. The people who hate him are those who don't like or get his style & those who will never be able to think logically or reason to any other point of view.

The reason Beck lost his cool had nothing to do with the healthcare discussion they were having - he was incensed that she said "YOU PEOPLE don't care about the cost of the bailouts" - Beck has spoken against the bailouts consistently, and here is this woman w/o facts misrepresenting his position right in his face! A little education would go a long way here.
