I'm from the detroit area.44 Yrs to be exact.
The people of detroit pay very little in taxes.The city &school district get there funds from county/state/federal
spread the wealth programs.that said,the people of detroit could careless what a city official is stealing and from whom casue it is'nt from them.

Great sarcastic wit. I love the commentary on this, as it is nothing but the truth. The cities with the most crime are almost all of them Democrat run cities. In other words, democrats have run these cities into the ground, the same place they are trying to run this country.

The big key in your post, Dana, was conservative Democratic.

I can't think of any metro area, outside a handful of college towns and capitols, that have been under Democrat rule for the last fifty years and aren't hell-holes.

Do you have an alternative reason why all of these places are under Dem control and suck so much? Shouldn't some random Republican-controlled city be just as dangerous a place to live as Gary, Indiana? Just by chance alone?

New York City used to be very high on these lists every year. Then it elected a Republican Mayor. Now it ranks at number 259. When will the rest of these places learn?

Well, I'd mention Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, as one of the best. We haven't had a murder in ten years, and if I forget and leave the front door unlocked, it doesn't matter. Heck, there've been times when I left the front door open, and it didn't matter.

Jim Thorpe is a small town, conservative Democratic burg. To me, the problem isn't the party controlling things, but the culture of the citizenry.
