At least that's what the mainstream media wants you to think. The free market seems to see things differently. Bill Dupray of the Patriot Room notes just how significant a deal this is:
Just how much could the Alaska governor make from putting pen to paper? About $7 million, according to some estimates.
Sound like a lot? Not necessarily, says one literary insider.
“Bill Clinton made more than $10 million when he signed his deal in 2001 and that was the most for a former president,” says the source. “Sarah brings something different to the table — there is so much curiosity surrounding her and her life. If they move fast and get this thing on shelves, then a $7 million advance could be worth it.”
Okay, so Bubba, after finishing 8 years as president, gets $10 million and the NYT has to go take a cold shower.
Sarah Palin was the Vice-Presidential pick on a losing ticket in The Year of The Messiah. She was derided and mocked by the left as a five brain-celled Caribou Barbie. And she gets $7 Million?
The Obots and Olbermann can hate her but the free market is betting that Sarah Palin is the Next Big Thing.
