Newt has personal character baggage issues that could hurt him in a national election. Some people think he is politically passed his prime, but Newt still has great ideas and a dynamism for achievement.

Newt Gingrich would be excellent in a leadership position within the RNC, but since this Nov 10th post he has made it clear that he does not desire the RNC chairmanship. Still, his brain is needed to help get the conservative message back on track.

Newt has shown no desire to run for President. I'll take him leading conservatives nationwide over a possible future of him holding office as President of the United States.

And this would by no means eliminate that potential. I just don't think he wants it, or thinks it is possible. But this he can do, and do better than anyone out there.

No one loves Newt as much as me, but I'm not sold that this would be the best thing for the party or for him. The chairman of the party has to be the consummate partisan, a bulldog for the party. If he takes on this role, I would be concerned about his future ability to get elected. First and foremost, I want Newt in the White House, and I'm afraid taking over the RNC is not a good way to do it.

If you think Newt is a RINO, you don't know history, Winghunter. And if you think Newt is a RINO, your brand of "conservatism" will never win a national election.

Fred Thompson is a great American and a fine conservative. Newt Gingrich led a conservative revolution.

Fred Thompson makes good videos. But we didn't "lose" Fred Thompson. He couldn't be bothered to get off his ass and campaign for the Republican nomination. Fred and Newt would support each other, I'm sure. But Newt has a track record of advancing conservative ideas and building the movement. Fred does not. And I can't blame him. If I had his hottie, conservative wife at home, I wouldn't get out much either. Let it be known that I don't get out much as it is, I am very blessed with my hottie, conservative wife too.

Yes he did, and I'm glad he did. However, Newt Gingrich started American Solutions to advance conservative ideas and limit government bureaucracy. And it has been way more successful.

Fred Dalton Thompson has also said the same thing soon after the blue states dictated we would nominate a RINO.

Fred Thompson started a PAC for the sole purpose of helping Conservatives get elected to office nationwide.

Fred's supporters also want to know if we would support him for either 'General' Chairman or Chairman of the RNC.

If you folks know him half as well as I do you won't lose this true Conservative a second time.

Newt Gingrich helped lead the GOP back with his guerrilla conservatism, a change from the go-along-to-get-along Republicanism of the 1960s and 1970s, a Republicanism that apparently had no problem with permanent minority status.

This would be GREAT news. The conservatives are lacking in so many areas. We have good ideas, but we suck at getting the message out. We do a poor job with strategy. We need to plan the next 2/4 years just like one would a military campaign. You have battles you need to fight to win the war. Not every issue is worth fighting over - pick them carefully.
