Or so he calls himself. The following is from guest blogger Richard Ridgeway, a new friend who I met through my blog. Other than being a Dallas Cowboys fan, he's a great guy:
Here's the deal. Scott Martin was gracious enough to allow me to contribute some blogging for his site. While I hope you like what I write, my objective is for it to act as a relief valve for my pent-up frustrations.
I grew up in the pre-internet age. Typing is foreign. Computers and their functionality don't really agree too much with my skill-set. Yet, I couldn't function without the 'puter, net and keyboard. There are millions like me. Maybe, you are one of the plagued, also. Although I'm unafraid to admit the vast shortfall of my computer literacy, I know I am sneered at and condescended to for those sins. For me and my ilk, carrying on an IM conversation is akin to being a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest-- near futility.
However, we do better with our thoughts and research. We are keenly aware of the surroundings and the information that is being distributed (hey, we're handicapped and I read somewhere something about other senses taking over). We remember shit very well. We know that the website we just visited -- we might not be able to figure out how to get back to it for awhile. But make no mistake, we have knowledge. It just takes us longer than most to express thoughts. When we do take the time to relay a message--we really want it to be understood. God forbid that it ain't understood, cause it took most of the day to try and get the point across!
Many of my computer-illiterate moron tribe is really pissed this election season. We see so much we want to comment on and share with others, but by the time we get around to hitting send-- there's a new crisis or topic that has already buried our talking point into obscurity. I'm going to revisit one topic and one statement from last week that has just really ate at me this entire time.
Last Sunday (September 28th) - FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace
Senator Lindsey Graham (small r) talking and yukking it up with good friend Senator John Kerry (who served in Vietnam) regarding the house vote on the "mother of all bail-outs":
Graham states, "... I would not want my Democratic colleagues, quite frankly, to have to walk off a cliff in the House and have no Republicans on board..."
Translation-- ... I REALLY HAVE TINY BALLS AND I DAMN SURE WANT TO LET MY DOUCHEBAG BRETHREN OF THE LEFT (WHO ARE FIGHTING EVERYTHING MY PARTY SUPPOSEDLY STANDS FOR) KNOW THEY CAN COUNT ON MY SUPPORT FOR STUPID SHIT, 'CAUSE YA KNOW- I'D REALLY LIKE ASSLICKING SUPPORT FOR MY STUPID SHIT, TO COVER MY ASS WHEN Y'ALL HAVE YOUR SUPER-MAJORITY...
That statement by Graham is just a sample reason the entire tribe of illiterates like me are so pissed and need a voice to go over old antiquated news...
