C'mon Scott.

The claim that a sitting US Senator has no record to consider is either a copout or just plain lazy. There are plenty of free-market measures he's supported over the years. To name a couple, in March he voted yes on the same earmark moratorium that McCain voted in favor of (S Amdt 4347) and last December he voted for an amendment to the Farm Bill to limit subsidies to individuals who are actively involved in farming (S Amdt 3695). The measure failed 53-46 and McCain didn't vote on it.

It should be pretty widely known by now that Obama's signature achievement in the IL state legislature is welfare reform.

And of course there is also the matter of his proposals, which most certainly do not advocate a socialist state, either.

If he had an sctual record, we could debate that. He does not.

He has never enacted any policies. How would I attempt to make a case that they are socialist, when they are non-existent?

So he's a marxist by association. And associations always trump the acyualy rhetoric and records.

I'm familiar with the line of thinking so, no, I do understand the stretch.

I was thinking you might actually attempt a case that his policies are socialist.

Joe -

The definition that says that if you have no record and no accomplishments, yet admit to spending every waking moment from college onward seeking out the company of Marxists, there is a decent chance you have some Marxist tendencies. Is that really too much of a stretch for you to understand?

Obama has not been forthright in telling Americans who he is, who he has been associated with, or what he will do if elected. If the media had done its job in vetting Obama from the beginning ... and if 18 months ago Americans knew what they know today about Obama, he would never have made it this far. I would be willing to bet that there are still volumes that we don't know about Obama, and even more Obama is not telling us about what he would do once elected. We also don't know where much of his 600 million dollars in campaign contributions came from ... possibly foreign nationals. Obama's donations are literally enabling him to buy the Presidency of the United States. And then there's Acorn, and voter fraud, which all seems to be favoring Obama. A socialistic agenda will ruin America ... whose 200+ year capitalistic ideology has made us the country where everyone wants to live ... even at risk of life and limb! It's pretty obvious that McCain loves America, not just in words, but in deeds that cost him dearly. I don't mind some changes, but changing our entire free enterprise system for socialism is NOT change I can believe in. I don't trust Obama. I think he will say or do anything to get elected. These are just some of the reasons I'm voting for McCain/Palin on November 4th.
