I guess what irritates me the most is the way the democratigogues demonize groups in such a way to create socially accepted prejudice to further their agenda. By inference, BO just called the successful greedy and unneighborly. Nice passive/aggressive way to stir up a little class envy, so the less successful don't see progressive taxes as redistribution of wealth socialism, but as a way of sticking it to the eeeevilllll rich.

I want to know where the wrong t.v. and radio shows quote came from...that is such a classic nanny democrat statement.

How can someone believe that the rich guys have less right to keep their money than the not so rich guys? What else is going to come? That they seize some of your properties, if you have more than two houses and let some homeless people stay there for free? Or they take one of your cars, if they don't believe that you really need it and sell it to give the money to charity?

I'm pretty much making just enough money to make ends meet every month, but I would not like the money from some rich guy. For what reason? Why does he owe me money?

What BO doesn't seem to understand (if he is even serious about this plan - might be just a campaign lure a la uncle Bill), that the economy will suffer under a plan like that, because it creates laziness in low income people and less competitiveness in higher income people (like if I have to choose between working a little bit more and making over $250K and then get taxed up to my ears or make a little bit less and have more spare time, what you think most of us will choose)

Plus according to a Gallup pole from June 2008 50% of Americans want less involvement of the government.

When given a choice about how government should address the numerous economic difficulties facing today's consumer, Americans overwhelmingly -- by 84% to 13% -- prefer that the government focus on improving overall economic conditions and the jobs situation in the United States as opposed to taking steps to distribute wealth more evenly among Americans.
To see the whole Gallup poll

“The one thing that I want to insist on is that, as I travel around the country, the American people are a decent people. Now they get confused sometimes. You know, they listen to the wrong talk radio shows or watch the wrong TV networks, um, but they’re, they’re basically decent, they’re basically sound.”
