I have heard him say on camera "Sure, drill more. Won't matter but go ahead." The point it is it's a placebo -- we need to take real meaningful actions. Otherwise this is a distraction from what should be the real conservative agenda in this country. Read any of the energy industry sites -- they all say the same thing. But it's your choice -- believe what you want to believe.

Only a supreme idiot would believe that drilling in ANWR will "free America from OPEC." Ask anybody in the oil industry -- they'll tell you no way, no how. When are real conservatives going to stand up and admit this is an empty pipe dream?

I think McCain was very smart in his choice of Palin, just alone for the aspect of ANWR. He got major pressure for opposing it, she is the expert on it. He can now change his mind on it, without looking like a flip-flopper.
