Joe Biden wants to take money from the rich and give it to the poor. He wants government to do the taking, apparently out of the belief that some rich people are such stingy assholes that they won't help people on their own. And he knows from experience. Here is the info on his charitable giving for the last decade:
Adjusted
Gross Income Charity1998 $215,432 $195
1999 $210,797 $120
2000 $219,953 $360
2001 $220,712 $360
2002 $227,811 $260
2003 $231,375 $260
2004 $234,271 $380
2005 $321,379 $380
2006 $248,459 $380
2007 $319,853 $995
Total $2,450,042 $3,690
$2.45 million earned in ten years, $3,690 given away in charity. What a tool.
I, on the other hand, don't believe in stealing from the rich to help the poor. My wife and I gave over $8000 to charity last year (a typical year for us) while I was still going to school. Our income was far less than half of Biden's yearly income. And we doubled his giving for a decade in one year.
My wife and I don't give to charity to flaunt our goodness, and that isn't my point. Almost everyone I know gives like we do. But I will definitely take the opportunity to use it to point out Biden's hypocrisy.
Here's a possible slogan for the Obama campaign:
"High taxes: The only way to make useless asshats like Joe Biden help people who are less fortunate."
