The Green Bay Packers have finally caved, and Brett Favre is returning to "compete" for the job of starting QB of the Pack, according to ESPN News.
I have been agonizing over this for months, but now I'm guessing that Packer fans will get the happy ending most of us wanted. The only joke of the situation now is that Favre is supposed to be competing for the job with untested and oft-injured Aaron Rodgers. If Favre, one of the five best QBs in NFL history in my opinion, were in a wheelchair and still wanted to play for Green Bay, I'd start him. Requiring a non-wheelchair bound Favre, coming off one of the best seasons of his career, to re-prove himself is not just silly, it's insulting.
Either way, it's a very happy night in the Martin Household.
